PORTLAND —  A police bomb squad is working at a pharmacy that was robbed earlier this afternoon.

The robbery at Rite Aid at 702 Forest Ave. was reported just before 1 p.m. Police are now dealing with a “hazardous device” on the scene.

The robbery suspect is described as a white male in his 30’s that is about 5’8” to 5’10” and approximately 160 lbs. He was wearing a tan baseball cap, eye glasses, a light colored fleece jacket, jeans and white sneakers.

No one at the location has been hurt, according to Sgt. Clifford Strout.

Few other details were available. It wasn’t clear whether the device and the robbery are related, Strout said.
