Registration is open for the Maine Elite Lacrosse Girls K-8 Skills & Drills program. Participants will be grouped by age/skill level to ensure a quality experience for everyone. Thornton Academy will hold a parent informational meeting for winter athletics at 6 p.m. Nov. 9 in Garland Auditorium. Varsity coaches will be available to meet with parents.

The York High School Athletic Hall of Fame 2011 class induction will be held on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Hannaford Drive in York. Tickets are $35 per person and are available at York High School. Tickets must be purchased in advance by Nov. 10.

St. Joseph’s College will host an Athletic Open House for prospective students on Friday, Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day offers prospective students who are athletes an information session on the application process and financial aid, a chance to meet with coaches, a faculty panel, and a session on life as an athlete at St. Joseph’s. Katahdin Field Hockey Club will hold tryouts on Nov. 12 from 1-4 p.m. at Yourspace in Gorham and on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham.
