Kids night out
The Athletics Department at Saint Joseph’s College offers its kids night out program on Saturday with activities such as games, movies, swimming, rock climbing as well as arts and crafts.
The program, held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Harold Alfond Recreation Center, is open to children ages 7- through 13-years-old.
The cost is $12 and each additional child from the same family is $6.
The same program will also be offered on Dec. 3 and Dec. 10.

Women’s documentary

Cat spay/neuter event
The Animal Welfare Society is teaming up with the Sanford-Springvale Animal Welfare Team to offer a cat spay/neuter event on Saturday for low-income residents.
Volunteers from AWS will be on hand from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at two locations in Sanford and Springvale to pick up pre-registered cats.
The cats will then be transported to the Animal Welfare Society for surgery. They will be returned to their original pick-up location at the end of the day.
The surgeries will cost $25.

Blue ribbon school
Eliot Elementary School will hold a flag raising ceremony on Friday to celebrate it being recognized as a “Blue Ribbon School.”
The ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. at the school, 1298 State Rd. There will be a dance and refreshments after the ceremony.

Turkey dance for students
Students in kindergarten through third grade are invited to a turkey dance at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Kennebunk Free Library.
The event will feature songs, crafts and turkey dancing.

CIA officer speaker
Richard Holm will speak about his life in the CIA at Saturday’s meeting of the Association for Intelligence Officers, held at 2 p.m. at the Brick Store Museum Program Center, 2 Dane St. in Kennebunk.
Holm is a CIA operations officer with 32 years experience and is the recipient of the Distinguished Intelligence Medal, CIA’s highest award, and author of “The Craft We Chose: My Life in the CIA.”

Jody Fein, a well-known storyteller, will present a Pajama Storytime event at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Raymond Village Library.
Fein is known for her fun, exciting and intriguing method of tale telling. Parents and kids are encouraged to wear their pajamas.

The Mid-Coast Retired Educators Association is sponsoring a program about charter schools at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Maine Vocational Region 10 High School on Church Road.

Free blood pressure clinic
CHANS Home Health Care in Brunswick is offering free blood pressure clinics this month.
The clinics will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program, 84A Union St. in Brunswick.
Another clinic will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at People Plus, 35 Union St. in Brunswick
Rides are available to the blood pressure clinics.

Celebrating learning center
The Riverview-Brunswick 21st Century Community Learning Center was recently recognized with the Maine After-school Network’s Exemplary Program Award for its after school programs for kids.
To celebrate, Riverview Foundation is holding a community event from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Big Top Deli on Maine Street.
Half of the sales during the event will be donated to the center.
