Sandpiper Family Movie Night, at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 350 US Route 1, Scarborough. Food and fun starts at 5:30 p.m., with the showtime of “Gnomeo & Juliet” 6:30-8 p.m. There will be concessions, face painting, and a movie-themed photo booth. Pancake breakfast, sponsored by South Portland Volunteers in Police Service program (VIPS), 8-11 a.m., South Portland Community Center. $5 for adults, $3 for kids under 10, and $15 for a family of four. Raffles, and a visit from McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog as well.

Asian Food Festival, at the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church, as a celebration of the foods and cultures of Asian people living in Cape Elizabeth and surrounding communities. Jo Stewart, a native of Singapore, will be the head cook and she and her friends will present foods from Malaysia, China, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam. There will be seating for this dinner at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and children under 12. Scarborough Historical Society meeting, at 7:30 p.m. A brief business meeting is held and followed by a presentation. This meeting is to be held at the society’s museum and meeting room located at 647 Route1 (adjacent to the Dunstan Fire Station). All monthly meetings are free and open to the public. The presentations last about an hour. The presentation will feature Jara Goodrich. She is on the faculty of the music school at the University of Southern Maine. As a harpist, Goodrich will perform traditional Christmas music.
