BRUNSWICK — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) recently announced that Custom Home Theater of Brunswick has won two top 2011 Mark of Excellence awards, presented by CEA’s TechHome Division.
According to a news release, CEA’s Mark of Excellence recognizes outstanding achievement and innovation in trendsetting custom home electronics for design and installation technologies. Entries were reviewed by a panel of industry experts and submitted in the Supplier and Systems Integrator categories.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by our peers for this award,” said Lee Lareau, president of Custom Home Theater. “With thousands of entrants from all over the country, it’s satisfying to know that neither company size nor geographic location has a monopoly in the recognition of excellence.”
“This was an especially challenging project,” said Ryan Thurston, project manager. “Finding ways to run wire from one place to another and installing four largescreen TVs while keeping the historic look of this 200-yearold Salt Box-style home was especially challenging.” To keep the 18th-century ambiance, special glass mirrors were installed so that the TVs disappear behind the picture framed mirrors when not turned on.
This is the fifth national award for the company since 2008. The company has also been featured in Home Theater, CE Pro, Maine Home & Design, and, most recently, a cover story for Downeast Magazine.
