Merle Clark Burgess, 76, of Wells, died peacefully on Nov. 20, 2011 after an extended illness at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Scarborough. An 11 a.m. graveside service will be led by Rev. Richard Azeez, beloved husband of Carol Adams, of La Quinta, Calif. and Alfred, passed away on Nov. 14, 2011 after a year-long battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. at the dining commons of the York County Shelter Programs, Inc. in Alfred. A light buffet lunch will follow. Geneva L. Brackett, 90, of Springvale, died on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford.
