Lester “Skip” Whitten, 59, of Kennebunk, died peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice, Scarborough. Having won his final “Victory in Jesus,” Lt. Colonel Ralph Edwin Joyce, retired officer of The Salvation Army, was promoted to glory from the Monarch Center, Saco, on Nov. 27, 2011, a day after the 51st anniversary of his wedding to Alice Atkinson Joyce. A service of remembrance will be held at The Salvation Army, 6th Street, Old Orchard Beach on Thursday, Dec. 1. Gerald W. Small, 75, of Dover, passed away peacefully in his loving wife’s arms on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. R. Gerald Bertrand, 74, of Cape Coral, Fla., who was born in Biddeford, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011. Bertrand’s interment occurred on Friday, Nov. 28, 2011 in Cape Coral, Fla.
