BRUNSWICK — Donald J. Murchie 92, of Brunswick died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Parkview Hospital.

He was born in South Portland, Maine on May 30, 1919, the son of William and Alma ( Murdock) Murchie. He graduated from Woodbridge (NJ) High School, R. C. A.( NY) Institute and Air Corp Pilot training. In WWII he was a B-25 Pilot and a P.O.W. in Italy and Germany.

Donald married Edith C. Peterson on January 19, 1943 in Colonia, NJ. He worked for the Valentine Fire Brick Co., the Stulz- Sickles Steel Co. (Vice President-Sales) then became a partner in a BMW Automobile Agency then a Manufacturers Representative for Wescott Steel Co.

Donald and Edith moved to mid-coast Maine in 1984.

He is predeceased by his wife Edith who died on December 22, 2005.

Surviving are two sons, Donald John Murchie, Jr. of Sackville, N. B., Canada; William Thomas Murchie of Richmond, VA; and a daughter Rev. Linda Lachesnez of Highland Park, NJ. Five grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He felt he had an interesting life and much thanks to his wonderful wife Edith, who kept him from doing too much damage along his circuitous route!
