BRUNSWICK — Judith Costain Walsh, 75, of Parkview Circle, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2011 in Bath. She was born in Bath on December 29, 1935, the daughter of George T. and Grace E. (Messier) Costain. Judy grew up in Bath and graduated from Morse High School in 1953. After high school she went on to Fisher Jr. College in Boston, graduating in 1955. She stayed in Boston for several years, working first for N.W. Ayer and later Bill Creed Associates. She met her future husband, Vincent, while they were both living on Boston’s Beacon Hill. They married in 1966 and moved to Hamilton Square, New Jersey, a few years later. She gave birth to her son, Thomas, in 1978, and worked for Switlik Parachute Company in Trenton for many years before retiring in 2000. Following Vincent’s passing, she moved back home to Maine in 2008.

Those who knew her in Maine, Boston, and New Jersey, were all fortunate to have had Judy in their lives. Visiting with friends and family was one of the activities that was most dear to her. She enjoyed hearing from others about their lives as well as exchanging views on current events. Her other interests included reading a wide range of books, watching movies from many different genres, and spending time at the family’s summer cottage at Mere Point in Brunswick.

She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Vincent; a sister, Camilla Costain; and a brother G. Thomas Costain Jr.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Walsh of Portland; a sister Kateri Costain; cousins Mrs. Jeannine Powers, her husband Bob and family, and Mrs. Jacqueline Minott, all of Brunswick, and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, December 10th, at the David E. Desmond Funeral Home, 638 High Street, Bath, and will be followed by a burial service at St. John’s Cemetery and a reception in Brunswick.
