The Animal Welfare Society of West Kennebunk will offer a program for kids about handling and caring for pets from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Children’s Museum and Theatre of Maine, 142 Free St.

Basic computer workshop

The Portland Public Library will host a workshop to teach some basic computer skills from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at the library.

The workshop will be led by Patrick Therrien, a technology and education training specialist at the Maine State Library. He will cover topics such as the components of a computer, mousing exercises, scrolling and navigating the Web.

Women, wealth seminar

A free seminar, “Women and Wealth,” will be presented from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the offices of Dr. Christiane Northrup, 12 Portland St.

Presenters will be Team Northrup members Megan Jo Wilson, a certified life coach and leadership consultant, and Larissa Haynes, a wellness coach and financial executive.

Participants will learn about money and cash flow and three ways to increase their wealth.

FREEPORT

Factory stage mixer

The Friends of Freeport Factory Stage will hold a free social mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at its location at 5 Depot St. The event will feature food and beverages.

Actors, directors, audience members and volunteers are welcome.

The Animal Welfare Society is holding an event for pets to have pictures taken with Santa from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at PetSmart at Biddeford Crossing. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Animal Welfare Society.

Discussion on ‘Frugality’

There will be a discussion of Chris Farrell’s book “The New Frugality: How To Consume Less, Save More, and Live Better” at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant St. The discussion is part of the library’s Money Works for Women financial literacy program.

The Buxton Toy Box is looking for volunteers between Thursday and Dec. 22 to wrap gifts for needy children for Christmas.
