BATH

Downtown Bath’s annual Holiday Open House will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.

“The streets will be lined with luminaries, and downtown Bath shops, galleries, restaurants and banks will stay open until 8 p.m. to welcome shoppers with festive holiday music, refreshments, and one- of- a kind gifts,” according to a release from Main Street Bath. “Members of downtown Bath’s arts community will also open their studios that evening with special holiday offerings of their work.”

Visitors to downtown Bath this week can vote for their favorite storefront or shopwindow as part of Main Street Bath’s window decorating contest. All voter ballots will be entered in a drawing to win a gift basket full of stocking stuffers from downtown merchants.

Voting continues through Sunday. Ballot boxes are placed throughout the downtown at Brackett’s Market, on Hallett’s Clock and in downtown banks and businesses. Judges will select winners in the “most festive” and “most charming” categories, and all ballots will be counted to determine the “ popular favorite.”

Each winning business will receive a $50 Gift of Bath gift certificate, redeemable at businesses throughout the city.

Holiday caroling will take place from 6 p. m. to 8 p. m. aboard the Bath trolley. Carolers can board the trolley at Bath City Hall.

The annual Holiday Open House, Window Decorating Contest and Trolley Caroling are part of An Old Fashioned Christmas in Bath.
