In 1977, a reporter from The Times Record tagged along with Santa Claus as he made his rounds to various locales in the Mid-coast region during December. When it comes to making teddy bears, even Santa has to take a backseat to Mildred Knight of Arrowsic who has made 350 this year. Convinced that he couldn’t stuff them any better, Santa bought 150 for The Times Record Santa Claus Fund. This little girl hugging the bears is Knight’s 5-year-old granddaughter, Pam Pam Crocker, who can attest to the cuddliness of all 350 teddy bears.
