WOOLWICH — A Woolwich man was treated and released after being temporarily pinned between his car and a tree as he tried to stop the vehicle from rolling down his driveway Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported to the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department at 8:26 a.m. Wednesday. Chief Deputy Brett Strout said Timothy Patterson, 43, of 63 Sanders Road, was in his house and observed his BMW car rolling backwards down the driveway.

“ He ran outside to try to stop it and in doing so, was pinned against a tree with the door,” Strout said. “He was able to free himself but did have some non-incompacitating injuries.”

The Woolwich Fire Department, Woolwich EMS and Northeast Mobile Health Services responded. Patterson was transported to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. A hospital representative said this morning that Patterson was treated and released.

Strout said Cpl. Aaron Skolfield is investigating the case.
