THE ALNA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT, shown here, will donate proceeds it won in the Lincoln County Fire Chiefs Association Disney Trip Raffle to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Community Energy Fund for Lincoln County. The Lincoln County Fire Chiefs Association sponsored the raffle for an all-expense paid trip to Disney World for four people this past summer, as a fundraiser for county firefighter training. The association sold approximately 1,200 tickets. On Oct. 19, the daughter of a local fire chief drew the winning ticket, which had been purchased by a member of the Alna Fire Department. “No one could have been more surprised than members of the Alna Volunteer Fire Department that one of the tickets they had purchased was the winning ticket,” a release from the department states. Members held a business meeting and voted to give the winnings to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Community Energy Fund for Lincoln County. The department requested that the funds sent to Make-A-Wish be used for a child from Lincoln County. “The Alna Volunteer Fire Department wishes to thank all those who were involved with making the arrangements for these donations,” the release states. Pictured are, from left, Alna firefighter Beth Whitney, Assistant Chief Roger Whitney, Make-a-Wish representative James Christie, Capt. Paul Ouellette, Community Energy Fund representative Robert Clifford, firefighter David Seigars, firefighter Cindy Seigars, Alna Chief Mike Trask and Alna Fire Company President Kathy Pendleton.
