BATH — The Hyde School jayvee boys basketball team kicked off the new year with a 1-1 record.
The Phoenix traveled to North Yarmouth Academy, picking up a come- frombehind 47- 37 win over the Panthers.
Hyde trailed by eight early, but a strong pressure defense forced several turnovers as the Phoenix battled back.
Evander Lenardson and Kiefer Cundy led the scoresheet, while Luis Allen and Andrew Kraai played solid on defense, along with Harry Hu.
Hyde hosted Old Orchard Beach in its second game, falling 49-46 in a close contest.
Lenardson hit several 3- pointers to keep the Phoenix in it, and Cundy dished out several assists as Hyde took an 11-point lead to the half before the Seagulls stormed back for the three-point win.
