PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Dion Waiters scored 20 points and No. 1 Syracuse remained undefeated with a 79-66 win over Villanova on Wednesday night.

James Southerland added 15 points for the balanced Orange, who are 18-0 for the second straight season. The Orange (5-0 Big East) used a 20-2 run to dominate the struggling Wildcats.

Villanova (8-9, 1-4) lost for the fourth time in five games and has put its streak of seven straight NCAA tournaments in serious jeopardy. Mouphtaou Yarou had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Wildcats.

No. 2 Kentucky 68, Auburn 53

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Anthony Davis and Doron Lamb scored 14 points apiece, and Kentucky finished an uneven performance with a flourish to beat Auburn.

The Wildcats (16-1, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) had a 23-6 closing run for their second straight 15-point league win. They didn’t take a double-digit lead over the Tigers (10-6, 0-2) until Davis scored on an alley-oop pass from Lamb with 1:31 left.

Marquis Teague and Terrence Jones each had 12 points for the Wildcats.

No. 9 Missouri 76, Iowa State 69

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Matt Pressey led five players in double figures with 14 points and Missouri bounced back from its first loss of the season to beat Iowa.

Phil Pressey and Ricardo Ratliffe each added 12 points for the Tigers (15-1, 2-1 Big 12), who won their eighth straight against the Cyclones dating to 2008.

Scott Christopherson had 19 points and Allen scored 17 for Iowa State (12-4, 2-1).

No. 10 Kansas 81, Texas Tech 46

LUBBOCK, Texas ( AP) — Thomas Robinson had 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead Kansas over Texas Tech.

Tyshawn Taylor added 15 points for the Jayhawks (13-3), who improved to 3-0 in Big 12 play for the sixth consecutive season. Meanwhile, the Red Raiders (7-8, 0-3) have dropped their first three conference games for the third straight year.

Javarez Willis scored 12 points to lead Texas Tech.
