GORHAM — The Freeport High School and Hyde-Bath indoor track teams participated in Friday’s Western Maine Conference meet at the University of Southern Maine.

Freeport’s Katie O’Neil picked up a win in the junior 200-meter run in 29.90. She also picked up points in the junior 55, taking fifth in 8.43.

Alyssa Richardson finished third in both the 800 (2:44.69) and one mile (5:57.34), Ciera Wentworth was fourth (5:58.13) in the mile and Lexi Dietrich launched the shot put 21-05.75 for fifth.

Dexie Cercos was the top finisher for the Phoenix, taking fourth in the 55 hurdles in 10.12, while Xi Wang was fifth in the two mile with a personal best time of 14:38.30. Mady Preece was sixth in the 400 (1:08.71).

Hyde’s Erika Corley improved her two-mile time by 33 seconds (15:31.62).

In the boys meet, Falcon sprinter Zach Greene was fourth in the senior 55 (7.18) and fourth in the senior 200 (24.90), while teammate Taylor Saucier took second in the 800 in 2:05.20.

TheHyde4x800relayteam of Cody Mitchell, Griffin Palola-Harriman, Isaac Preston and Isaac Pfosi finished third in 9:36.58, a four-second improvement. Also, Mitchell improved his one- mile run time by 8.83 seconds, finishing in 5:22.11, and Ben Weber, though not scoring due to being a fifth-year high school athlete, finished third in the 55 (7.10) and 200 (25.40).

Greely won the girls meet with 254 points, followed by York ( 97 points), Fryeburg Academy (91), Freeport (45), North Yarmouth Academy (45), Yarmouth (40), Wells (36) and Hyde-Bath (11).

In the boys meet, York ( 289.5) easily took the top spot, with Greely ( 105.5), Yarmouth ( 92), NYA ( 65), Wells ( 49), Fryeburg ( 20), Freeport ( 16) and Hyde ( 6) rounding out the field.
