BATH — The Sagadahoc History and Genealogy Room will launch its eighth annual Town History Series at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with a program titled “History of the Patten Free Library” by Peter Goodwin and Robin Haynes, at the library.

The series, jointly sponsored by the Patten Free Library and the Bath Historical Society, includes free programs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on six consecutive Saturdays.

The remainder of the schedule is as follows:

— Jan. 28: Arrowsic, Fred Kahrl, “Saving Squirrel Point Light Station”

— Feb. 4: Georgetown, Rich Start, “The Terrible Fire of ’34”

— Feb. 11: Woolwich, a panel discussion, “Stories of Woolwich Schools”

— Feb. 18: Phippsburg, John G. Morse IV, “Phippsburg Then and Now”

— Feb. 25: West Bath, Frank Roberts and Charlie Burden, “The Littlefield School: West Bath’s Historic One- Room Schoolhouse”

Patten Free Library is located on Summer Street.
