BOWDOINHAM — The Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department arrested two Massachusetts men following an alleged home invasion at a Carding Machine Road home Saturday afternoon.

Chief Deputy Brett Strout said this morning that 30- year-old Jorge Santiago of 11 Inman St., Lawrence, Mass., and Miguel Rodriguez, 29, of 201 Bailey St., Lawrence, Mass., were both charged with robbery, terrorizing and criminal trespass as a result of Saturday’s incident.

Strout said Santiago and Rodriguez forced their way into a man’s home on Carding Machine Road at around 3:34 p.m. Saturday, and demanded cash, marijuana and medications. Strout said one of the suspects held a razor to the man’s throat before fleeing from the home with the money and drugs. The victim, who Strout said wasn’t injured, then went to a neighbor’s house to call for help.

Sagadahoc deputies, Richmond police officers and the Maine Warden Service cordoned off the area, Strout said. Sagadahoc Cpl. Ian Alexander came upon a fresh set of footprints as he responded to the scene and, with Warden Robert Decker, was able to track Santiago and Rodriguez and apprehend the two men in the woods. Strout said the two were hiding when Alexander and Decker found them. They were taken into custody without incident and are being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, each on $10,000 bail.

The case remains under investigation, and the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department asks anyone with information to call the detective division at (207) 386-5827.
