On Saturday, Jan. 21, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation as a result of a 41-year-old female reporting she had been violently attacked and robbed in the town of Sebago.
At the time of the incident, the woman had been in her vehicle that was stuck due to ice. A passing male motorist stopped to offer assistance. Once the assisting motorist had the woman out of her vehicle, he violently attacked her and sexually assaulted her. After repeatedly assaulting the woman, the male stole money from her vehicle and fled the area leaving the injured woman on the roadside.
The Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the person involved in this incident. The Sheriff’s Office is looking for the following:
• Gray or dark color GMC full-size pick-up truck having a “Ski-Doo” sticker on the right rear lower corner of the back window.
• Truck could be towing a snowmobile trailer with no scoop, which may have two snowmobiles on it, one red and one yellow.
• Truck will have a New Hampshire registration plate.
• Male operating the truck is described as being: six feet tall weighing approximately 170 pounds and at the time was wearing a dark-hooded jacket, “Beanie” style watch cap and gold framed glasses.
