GORHAM — Senior guard Chris Pagentine calmly sank two free throws with 2.8-second remaining in regulation to lift the University of Southern Maine Huskies to an 85-84 win over the Western Connecticut State University Colonials Saturday afternoon at Hill Gymnasium in men’s college basketball action.
With the win USM rebounded from a two-game skid to improve to 8-10 overall and 2-7 in the Little East Conference. The loss is the first in three games for the Colonials, who dipped to 15-4 overall and 6-3 in the LEC.
The Huskies’ win over the Colonials avenges an 88- 58 loss earlier this season.
Sophomore guard Brandon Tomah and junior guard Alex Kee of Bath chipped in with 15 and 12 points, respectively. Kee had four assists, while Tomah contributed three assists and three steals.
