WEST BATH — The Board of Selectmen on Wednesday unanimously voted to appoint Jonathan Davis of West Bath as the new town administrator.
Davis takes over for former town administrator Pam Hile, who left the position in December to become the Sagadahoc County administrator.
Davis holds a master’s degree in public administration from Central Michigan University and served in the U.S. Army. He most recently worked for Lockheed Martin Corp., and worked in county government in Michigan.
Abbe Yacoben, chairwoman of the Board of Selectmen, said Thursday that the town received 18 applications for the job.
Davis “has experience with a lot of the things we were focused on — grant writing, supervising employees and some public sector work, and he seemed very much a straightforward gentleman,” she said. “We are so excited.”
Davis begins as town administrator today.
