BATH — Warsame Mohamed scored 17 points as the Hyde School boys basketball team rallied for a 57-49 victory over A.R. Gould on Tuesday in Class D action.

A.R. Gould led 20-16 through one and held a 30-26 edge at the half. The 15-1 Phoenix battled back, holding a 20-10 scoring edge in the third for a 46-40 lead.

Chris Moulton added 16 points for Hyde.

Zacharia Mohamed had a game-high 21 points for A.R. Gould (9-7).

MORSE 40

The visiting Hornets outscored Morse 18-4 in the second quarter en route to a KVAC Class B win at Bath.

Ted Cole had a game-high 19 points for the 4-13 Shipbuilders, who visit Medomak Valley in their season finale on Thursday at 7 p.m. Matt Munster added 10 points and Christopher Paulus scored seven points and played solid defense.

Zac Goulette paced Leavitt (14-3) with 13 points and Tim Dow chipped in nine.

The Hornets led 22-15 after a quarter, 40-19 at the half and 53-28 through three.

Morse finished three of 10 from the foul line, while Leavitt made 13 of 23 at the charity stripe.

RICHMOND 39
BUCKFIELD 58

The host Bucks jumped out to a 29-2 lead, held off a Richmond rally and came away with an East-West Conference victory.

The loss dropped the Bobcats to 4-13 and 10th in the Western Maine Class D Heal Point Standings. The top nine make the postseason, with Richmond slated to host Greenville on Friday (6:30 p.m.) in its regular-season finale.

Richmond rallied in the second quarter, closing to 36-26 at the break thanks to a 24-10 scoring advantage.

“We got it down to eight points, but we just ran out of steam,” said Richmond coach Phil Houdlette.

Ben Carver led the visitors with 12 points, with Brian Snedeker adding 11 and Kade Strout chipping in seven points and team-high 12 rebounds. Randy Moody pulled down nine caroms, with Nate Tribbett picking up four steals.

Alan Hendrick led Buckfield (7-11) with 21 points. Austin Dooley finished with 16 and Cody Barker had 10.

The Bucks were seven of 20 at the line, while Richmond struggled to an 11-of-31 performance.

MT. ARARAT 36
LEWISTON 80

The Blue Devils overcame an early 14-10 deficit in rolling to a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win in Lewiston.

“They’re good, and their pressure bothered us,” said Mt. Ararat coach Aaron Watson, whose team dropped to 2-15 with rival Brunswick slated to visit Topsham on Thursday.

Lewiston turned its four-point deficit into a 32-22 halftime lead. The advantage drew to 58-33 through three quarters.

Donny Agossau led a balanced Blue Devil attack with 12 points, while Eric Wilson and Cody Mousseau had 11 points each. Lewiston finished 11 of 19 at the line.

Tyler Charron picked up a game-high 16 points for Mt. Ararat, which was 10 of 17 at the charity stripe.

At South China, Erskine Academy held Brunswick to 11 first-half points and overcame a late deficit in picking up a KVAC win.

The Dragons, 10- 7 and slated to visit rival Mt. Ararat on Thursday, trailed 21-11 at the half, but rebounded to take a 33-31 lead with six minutes left on a bucket by Garrett Erb.

But, the hosts rallied, getting 14 points from Tom Grady and 12 from Tyler Belanger in improving to 7- 10.

POLAND 66

The host Knights battled back from a 32-27 halftime deficit in a Western Maine Conference victory.

Poland (10-7) outscored Freeport 19-10 in the third quarter for a 46-42 lead and pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Mitch Loeman had a game-high 25 points for the 3- 14 Falcons, who visit Old Orchard Beach on Friday. Landon Easler, Chandler Birmingham and Josh Weirich chipped in 10 each. Freeport finished eight of nine at the line.

Ricky Bryant, Drew Peterson and CJ Martin each scored 15 points to lead Poland, with Jed Quint adding 12. The Knights were 12 of 16 at the charity stripe.
