ALFRED (AP) — The trial of a Limington man accused of fatally shooting his wife is coming to a close.

Prosecutors and defense lawyers in the trial of Patrick Dapolito are expected today to deliver closing statements to a York County Superior Court jury. After that, jurors could start deliberating.

The Portland Press Herald reports the jury has heard 12 days of testimony.

The 41-year-old Dapolito is charged with murder in connection with the March 2010 slaying of Kelly Winslow.

He at first said he accidentally shot his wife after a night of drug use in their home. He later changed his story, saying she was killed by drug dealers the couple was associated with.

Prosecutors have described the killing as domestic violence, saying Winslow wanted to leave Dapolito.
