To the editor:
Thanks for publishing “Ability to pay determines ability to spay,” on Feb. 8. There will be fewer unwanted cats hunting in our yards and killing already endangered birds.
Here in Bath, dogs must be kept at home or on a leash.
Strangely, and sadly, the article forced me to think of the many abused and unwanted babies and children I have known and attended as a public health nurse.
Present political fighting should stay out of this important health- care issue. As much as possible, children should be loved, wanted and cared for.
