BATH — Patten Free Library’s “ Lunch at the Library” brown-bag lunch discussion series will continue with a chat about virtual libraries and digital collections at noon Wednesday.

The “Lunch at the Library” presentation is free, open to the public, and will begin at noon in the library’s second floor community room. No advance registration is required.

“Many of our patrons have gained familiarity with free eBooks sources on- line,” Roberta Jordan, an outreach librarian at Patten Free Library, said in a release. “However, there is so much more than books available online through virtual libraries and digital collections. Anyone with a computer and an Internet connection can access incredible information resources, including images, audio and video; it’s really just a matter of knowing the best places to start. During this lunch hour, we’ll give patrons a quick tour of what we think are some of the best online libraries, information portals, and digital collections.”

“Lunch at the Library” sessions are held on the last Wednesday of every month, and will continue through May. Future topics include social media for book-lovers, iPad Apps for Readers, and Health Information Resources Online.

Community members with suggestions for topics or questions about the series can contact Jordan at 443-5141, extension 25.
