THE FREEPORT HIGH SCHOOL ski teams competed in the State Class C Championships last week with the Freeport girls finishing first overall (Alpine, Nordic) and the boys second. In girls Slalom action, Elly Bengtsson was first, Taylor Enrico third and Sarah Pier 10th. In Giant Slalom, Bengtsson was first, Enrico fifth, Sarah Pier eighth and Wynne Cushing nine. The boys were third in Alpine and second combined. In slalom competition, Ryder Bennell was second and Blake Enrico sixth, while Enrico was third in Giant Slalom. Also, Chris Collins took second overall in Skimeister.
