HARPSWELL — Nancy Norwood Mill Rose, 80 died peacefully Sunday, February 26, 2012.
She was born in Glasgow, Scotland on October 2, 1931, a daughter of Joseph and Nancy Mc Kay Monaghan and attended schools in Scotland.
Nancy loved to read, research history and travel. She worked as a lab tech in Glasgow and West Scotland for Mobile Blood Transfusion Services. Nancy left Scotland in 1954 to pursue her dream of traveling the world. She enjoyed excursions to Peru, Africa, Iceland, Europe and Hawaii.
Surviving are a daughter, Gwen Rose of Orr’s Island; a grandson Kelton Rose and a daughter-in-law Jill Rose of Harpswell. She also leaves behind a sister, Mary Moore of Glasgow; and a brother, Joseph Monaghan of Scotland, as well as many nieces and nephews throughout Scotland, England and New Zealand. She was predeceased by a son David Rose in 1998.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coastal Humane Society, 30 Range Road, Brunswick, ME 04011.
