WHEN: 7 p.m. today, 5 p.m. Sunday

RADIO: WJAB 96.3–FM
ARMOR NOTES: The Armor are the D-League’s hottest team. They finished February a perfect 8-0 and have won 10 of 11. But Springfield hasn’t played since Feb. 20. Springfield’s streak has put the Armor just a half-game behind Iowa for first in the Eastern Division. The Armor are 5-1 against Maine this year. Springfield’s starting five averages at least 15 points per game, led by guards Jerry Smith (18.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists) and Red Claws-killer JamesOn Curry (16.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.4 assists). F Dennis Horner (15.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 27 consecutive free throws), G L.D. Williams (15.5 points) and C Jeff Foote (15.0 points, 8.5 rebounds) are the other starters.
RED CLAWS NOTES: The Red Claws are happy to see February end, as they finished the month by losing five of their last six games. They’ve also lost their last four home games and are 0-2 against Springfield at home this year. This will be the home debut for G Mike Gerrity and C Hamady N’Diaye, both acquired from the available player pool. Gerrity earlier this year played for Erie and is regarded as a high-energy player and has already played two games for Maine; N’Diaye, a 7-footer from Rutgers who was the Big East defensive player of the year in 2010, played three games for the NBA’s Washington Wizards this year, along with 10 for the Iowa Energy. He was just signed on Feb. 27. Maine is led by F Morris Almond, who is averaging 22.1 points and 5.4 rebounds in 14 games since joining the club. Craig Brackens, on assignment from the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, is averaging 18.9 points and 9.3 rebounds. G Kenny Hayes (15.2 points and 4.9 assists) and F Lawrence Hill (13.1 points and 7.1 rebounds) are also playing well.
