BRUNSWICK — After a devastating fire in June 2011 destroyed its century- old building, the Unitarian Universalist Church plans to break ground on the same site for a new church building sometime in late spring or early summer.

To raise funds for the building effort, the church will hold an online auction until March 18 through the online charity auction platform, BiddingForGood.

The congregation thanks the auction’s sponsors: Downeast Energy, Goodwin Chevrolet and Mid Coast Health Services, as well as area businesses and artists who have graciously donated items to this auction.

Items include: paintings, jewelry, clothing and accessories, event tickets, sports memorabilia, dining and entertainment gift certificates, getaways to near and far, white water rafting and hot air balloon adventures, and more.

Items may be viewed at BiddingForGood.com/uucb.

The church’s new building will be larger and greener, yet at the same location on the corner of Pleasant and Middle streets, where it will also serve Brunswick area community groups, activities and cultural events.
