BRUNSWICK — The Midcoast Creating Assets, Savings and Hope (CA$H) Coalition and MyFreeTaxes, a program of One Economy, will offer “Do-It-Yourself Free Tax Preparation Nights” from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday through April 10 in Room 117 at Bowdoin College’s McClellan Building, which is on the corner of Union and Station streets.

“Anyone whose household income is less than $57,000 can file their federal and state income taxes online for free — no strings attached,” Sharon Ross, Volunteers of America Northern New England Program director of Midcoast CA$ H, said in a release. “There are some free do-it-yourself websites out there, but they may charge you additional fees for a state return or if you need to file additional forms.”

To participate in the program, individuals should have a combined household income of less than $57,000, no rental income, no selfemployment business expenses that are more than $10,000 and an email address. Bring last year’s return and all tax documents, including W-2s, 1099s, self-employment information and 1098s.

IRS-certified tax preparers will be available to answer federal and state tax law questions while individuals prepare their own taxes.

Call Sharon Ross at Volunteers of America Northern New England at 373-1140, extension 206 to schedule an appointment. Walk- ins are welcome upon availability.
