MILFORD, CT — Yvonne Merle Chetley, age 82, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Kenneth M. Chetley, Sr, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Yvonne was born in Richmond, Maine on February 15, 1930 to the late James and Merle Taplin Sidelinger.
As a teenager, she worked at the Augusta State House and upon moving to Milford as a newlywed, started work at Chaitans Department Store in Milford and for a short time at Avco, before becoming a stay at home mom. Yvonne was a Milford resident for 64 years and loved being an Auxiliary Volunteer at Milford Hospital in the ER for 25 years.
Survivors include her son; Kenneth M. Chetley, Jr of Milford and daughter, Kathleen Kaminski (Peter) of Milford and her four grandchildren; Kristy, Danielle, Peter II and Jamie, a brother, Robert Sidelinger (Claire) of ME, a sister Janet Beairsto (Bill) of FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Yvonne is pre-deceased by a brother, Norris Sidelinger.
Friends were invited on Saturday morning from 9-10AM in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A funeral service was held at 10AM in the funeral home followed by interment in Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Milford Hospital Memorial Fund, Auxiliary Office, 300 Seaside Avenue, Milford, CT 06460 in Mrs. Chetley’s memory.
