A few snow banks still linger as Portlander Dolores Wilhoite soaks in the warm sunshine while she reads a newspaper on the Eastern Prom on Monday. The splendid weather Aalso brought walkers and joggers out in force along Baxter Boulevard. Portland fell just short of its record high temperature for March 12. Chris Legro, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Gray, said Monday’s high of 62 degrees just missed the previous high for the date, 63 degrees, set in 1973. The highest temperature in the region was 67, recorded in Fryeburg.
