LISBON HIGH SCHOOL faculty members Randy Ridley and Julie Wescott will begin defense of their 2011 staff dancing title at 7 p.m. today in the school gym. Five faculty couples will challenge Ridley and Wescott to claim the honor as the school staff’s top dance duo. After today’s semi-finals, the crown will be awarded on April 12. Admission to today’s dance and the April 12 event costs $5 for adults or $3 for children.
Six faculty dance couples plan to participate in the local answer to a national favorite pastime of watching dancers strut their stuff. Defending champions Randy Ridley and Julie Wescott have their sights sets on maintaining the prestigious dancing ball trophy.
Staff members from Alma- Lea’s Dance Studio will offer guidance to all contestants.
Semi-finals are scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. today in the Lisbon High School gymnasium,
2 Sugg Drive. Finals will be held April 12 at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available at the door. Admission costs $5 for adults or $3 for children. Children younger than 5 years old will be admitted free.
