To the editor:

Come spend the evening among fairies and royalty and celebrate love with Al Miller’s newest production of Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

This show, which opens Friday, is appropriate for all theater goers who love the silliness and drama of the bard’s comedies and is a great opportunity to support the Theater Project and all our local, talented actors.

“Midsummer Night’s Dream” is a multi-generational show featuring some local favorites and members of the Young Company, as well as some Theater Project alumni returning to the Brunswick stage after as many as 15 years.

This includes me and my husband, Kevin Calderwood, who play the newly married Theseus and Hippolyta. We met at the Theater Project 17 years ago in another all-ages show directed by Al Miller, and we are so happy to return to the stage with such an energetic cast, especially as part of the 40th anniversary season.

As always, admission to our shows is pay-what-you-want, so bring the whole family out. Shows start at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through March 31. Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m. and will be offered every week through April 1. All performances will be at the theater on School Street in Brunswick.

Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” is a play about love and magic, and as president of the board for the Theater Project, I am happy to also share our magical announcement that as of March 10, we have reached the “Intermission” in our Legacy Fund donation year and have raised $ 50,000 toward our $100,000 Challenge Gift made by an anonymous friend.

Thanks to the generous and inspiring support of community members and friends of the Theater Project! If you haven’t had your donation matched dollar for dollar yet, call 725-8584 or give online at www.theaterproject.com. We have so much planned for this anniversary year, so check up out on Facebook and on-line for up-coming show and events.

Give me your hands, if we be friends … and come see “Midsummer Night’s Dream!”
