MONARCHS NOTES: Manchester has won 7 of 10, including two lopsided wins against the Pirates, to remain in the thick of the race for one of the eight playoff berths from the Eastern Conference. AHL Player Of The Week Justin Azevedo has five goals in his last four games. On March 10, he scored four goals to lead the Monarchs to a 5-2 win against the Pirates at the Civic Center.

PIRATES NOTES: After earning 4 of 8 points during a four-game trip, the Pirates need a win to remain in the race for a playoff berth. With nine games left, Portland is three points out of a playoff spot. Recent offensive bright spots include veteran forward Ashton Rome, who has six goals in the last nine games, and rookie forward Ethan Werek, who has four goals in the last five games.
