BALTIMORE, Md. — The University of Maine baseball team continued its domination of Maryland-Baltimore County with another sweep Saturday, extending its winning streak to nine with 18-1 and 17-11 victories.
The Black Bears (16-14, 4-0 America East) tallied 18 hits in the opener and 21 in the second game, including a school-record nine doubles.
Justin Leisenheimer hit three home runs and drove in seven runs in the first game. Michael Fransoso had four hits and three RBI in the second game.
BOWDOIN SWEEPS BATES: The Polar Bears (13-8, 2-1 NESCAC) got solid starts from Oliver Van Zant and Tim Welch, and swept the Bobcats (13-8, 2-1) at Lewiston, 3-0 and 6-1.
Van Zandt (3-0) tossed a four-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks. Tim Welch (2-0) allowed four hits in eight innings in the second game.
COLBY SWEEPS BRAN-DEIS: Robb Arndt’s two-run double capped a six-run seventh-inning rally in the opener, and Luke Duncklee had four hits in the second game as the Mules posted 13-11 and 7-1 victories at Waltham, Mass.
USM SWEEPS UMASS-DARTMOUTH: David Ricker had three hits, including a grand slam, and five RBI as the Huskies (11-10, 3-1 Little East) won the opener 14-6 against the Corsairs (11-10, 1-3) at North Dartmouth, Mass.
Tucker White had two hits and three RBI in the second game, and USM scored four runs in the seventh inning for a 9-5 win.
UMPI SWEEPS SMCC: Jordan Duffy hit a tiebreaking two-run single in the sixth inning as the Owls (4-19) completed a sweep with a 7-5 victory after winning the opener 10-0 in five innings against the Seawolves (13-12-1) at South Portland.
SOFTBALL
USM SPLITS WITH UMASS-DARTMOUTH: Stefanie Stockwell pitched a four-hitter and Katie Davis had four hits as the Huskies (1-17, 1-1 Little East) won the second game 4-0 at North Dartmouth, Mass.
The Corsairs (6-11, 2-2) won the opener, 4-2.
ST. JOSEPH’S SWEEPS JOHNSON AND WALES: Maddie Kluna pitched a four-hitter and Emily Leverone homered twice in the opener, and the Monks (20-4, 13-1 GNAC) earned 3-0 and 11-2 wins over the Wildcats (15-11, 11-5) at Standish.
Lindsay Moore hit a two-run homer and Maria Labbe belted a three-run homer in Game 2.
BOSTON UNIVERSITY SWEEPS MAINE: The Terriers (22-12, 6-2 America East) scored a run on a groundout in the 12th inning to win the opener 2-1, and scored six runs over the final four innings to win the second game 6-1 at Orono.
BATES SWEEPS COLBY: Lauren Dobish hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to give the Bobcats (10-6, 4-2 NESCAC) a 5-4 win in the opener, and Anna Marie Martino and Leah Maciejewski each had three hits and two RBI as Bates won the second game 12-1 against the Mules (4-13, 0-3) at Waterville.

UMASS-DARTMOUTH 14, SOUTHERN MAINE 5: Dylan Kenney scored twice for the Huskies (3-6, 0-2 Little East) in a loss to the Corsairs (7-1, 2-0) at North Dartmouth, Mass.
COLBY 11, WESLEYAN 5: Jonathan McIvor scored three goals, and Ian Deveau added two goals and three assists for the Mules (4-3, 2-3 NESCAC) in a win over the Cardinals (7-2, 4-2) at Waterville.
TRINITY 7, BOWDOIN 4: Nathan Fritts, Billy Bergner, Mark Flibotte and Patrick Lawlor scored for Bowdoin (7-3, 4-3 NESCAC) in a loss to the Bantams (7-2, 5-0) at Brunswick.
UNE 11, NICHOLS 6: Dylan Thomas had two goals and three assists as the Nor’easters (7-6, 2-2 Commonwealth Coast) handled the Bison (7-6, 2-2) at Biddeford.
HAMILTON 12, BATES 8: Rob Highland scored three goals for the Bobcats (4-6, 2-5 NESCAC) in a loss to the Continentals (5-4, 3-4) at Clinton, N.Y.
ST. JOSEPH’S 20, EMERSON 10: Jonathan Horgan had four goals and two assists, and Paul Dolewa also scored four goals for the Monks (6-7, 4-1 GNAC) against the Lions (0-5, 0-5) at Boston.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
MIT 14, SOUTHERN MAINE 10: Rosie Forster, Lauren Santo and Jenna Cyr each scored two goals for USM (4-7) in a loss to the Engineers (2-9) at Gorham.
HAMILTON 16, BATES 9: Mariah Monks of Cape Elizabeth had four goals for Hamilton (4-6, 3-4 NESCAC) in a win over the Bobcats (5-5, 2-5) at Lewiston.
Emma Getsinger had three goals for Bates.
COLBY 12, WESLEYAN 9: Claire Donegan and Lindsey McKenna each had three goals as the Mules (9-1, 5-1 NESCAC) beat the Cardinals (4-6, 1-4) at Middletown, Conn.
TRINITY 13, BOWDOIN 6: Katie Stewart and Carolyn Gorajek scored two goals apiece, but Bowdoin (6-4, 4-3 NESCAC) never recovered after the Bantams (9-0, 6-0) scored the first five goals at Hartford, Conn.
UNE 15, NICHOLS 9: Hannah Tavella had four goals and Gina Newsome finished with three as the Nor’easters (9-2, 3-0 Commonwealth Coast) downed the Bison (3-6, 0-4) at Biddeford.
