BEVERLY, Mass. — The Bowdoin College women’s lacrosse team sprinted to a 7- 1 lead in the early going and cruised to an 18- 12 win at Endicott College on Tuesday evening.
The 10th- ranked Polar Bears improved to 7-4, while the Gulls dropped to 7-4.
Carolyn Gorajek and Elizabeth Clegg had four goals each for Bowdoin, while Katie Herter, McKenna Teague and Katie Stewart had two scores apiece.
Tara Connolly made nine saves in the victory.
Senior Chelsea Albright got the scoring started at 26:38 with her seventh goal of the season, and after an Endicott goal evened the score, the Polar Bears received two straight goals from Clegg and two more from Gorajek. Stewart scored again for Bowdoin before Clegg completed her hat trick at the 15:57 mark.
Endicott used a late rally to trim the lead to 11-7 at intermission.
The Polar Bears came out of the gate quickly in the second half with five of the first six goals, including one more each by Clegg and Gorajek and two by McKenna Teague, for a 16-8 lead.
The Polar Bears play this upcoming Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. against Wesleyan.
