Fairfield University has announced that the following local residents have been named to Alpha Sigma Nu, class of 2013: Daniel Jones, a resident of South Portland; and Julie Passarelli, a resident of Scarborough.

Alpha Sigma Nu, the honor society of Jesuit institutions of higher education, recognizes those students who distinguish themselves in scholarship, loyalty, and service. Fairfield University is a comprehensive Jesuit university in Fairfield, Conn.

The following local students were recently named to the Merrimack College fall 2011 semester deans list: Craig Redegeld, Scarborough; Brian York, Scarborough; Leah Paris, Scarborough; and Helen Gillis, Cape Elizabeth.

Jasper S. Muse, a resident of South Portland, has been named to first honors on the Clark University dean’s list. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the fall 2011 semester.

Thanh-Phong Ho of South Portland has been named to the honor roll at North Yarmouth Academy for the first trimester. Sean Feely of South Portland has been placed on the dean’s list of the College of Arts and Sciences for excellence in scholarship for the fall 2011 semester at Cornell University.
