PHIPPSBURG — Local firefighter and rescue crews responded to a crash Monday afternoon on Route 209 in Phippsburg.
The crash, reported at 4:55 p.m. at Main Road (Route 209) and Sam Day Hill Road, involved three vehicles. No injuries were reported.
Lt. Calvin Temple of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department said a 17-year-old male from Wiscasset was driving a 1994 Dodge pickup truck south on Route 209 and struck the rear of a 1998 GMC Jimmy driven by 32-year-old Mary Emerson of Rockport — who was stopped to let a vehicle in front of her make a left turn. Temple said the impact forced the Jimmy driven by Emerson into a 1997 suburban operated by Gareth Small, 50, of Phippsburg — who also was stopped for the vehicle making a left turn into a driveway.
The vehicles all sustained damage, mainly around the bumpers. No charges were filed, said Temple, who had no record that any of the involved individuals required medical treatment.
