BRUNSWICK — Erika Everett, Chelsea Scharold and Jenny Thenor each drove in three runs leading the Mt. Ararat High School jayvee softball team to a come-frombehind 12-10 victory over rival Brunswick on Wednesday.
Trailing 10-8 heading to the seventh inning, the Eagles (1- 0) scored four runs to take the lead. Everett came on in relief and held Brunswick (0-1) without a run in the home half of the seventh.
Katie Frizzle tripled, Michaela Schanholtz picked up three singles and Maggie Vaillancourt singled twice to pace the Mt. Ararat offense. Piper Ingle struck out four over the first six innings.
Tami Burgess struck out seven for Brunswick, which hosts Bangor today. Mt. Ararat is slated to visit Mt. Blue today.
