CAST members of “Broadway’s Next H!t Musical” will transform made-up audience song suggestions into an improvised spoof of a Broadway show in Lewiston on Saturday.

LEWISTON — L/A Arts will present “Broadway’s Next H!t Musical” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Franco American Heritage Center, 46 Cedar St.

An L/A Arts release describes the show as follows: Master improvisers gather made-up, hit song suggestions from the audience and create a spontaneous evening of music, humor and laughter. The audience votes for their favorite song and watches as the cast turns it into a full blown improvised musical — complete with memorable characters, witty dialogue and plot twists galore.

The production is directed by improv veterans Rob Schiffmann and Deb Rabbai.

Schiffmann has worked and toured as a professional improviser and musician for more than 17 years. He has taught and directed improv at The School for Film and Television, Weist- Barron, and the Perry- Mansfield Performing Arts School in Steamboat Springs, Colo. In another professional incarnation, he performs as writer, lead singer and guitarist for The Hillary Step, a New Yorkbased acoustic-pop band.

An original member and co-creator of Broadway’s Next H!T Musical, native New Yorker Deb Rabbai has worked as an actor, improviser, singer and voice-over artist for the last 20 years. A graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, she performs regularly with the national touring improv company Chicago City Limits. She also spent 10 years performing and teaching improvisation with Freestyle Repertory Theatre.

Tickets cost $20 for adults or $15 for students and seniors. For more information or to order tickets, call 782-7228 or visit www.laarts.org.
