PARIS (AP) — A western Maine teenager is facing two manslaughter charges in connection with a fatal car crash that happened while police say she was texting back and forth with friends at an underage drinking party.
Kristina Lowe, 19, of Oxford was arrested Tuesday. She is charged with manslaughter, aggravated operating under the influence, aggravated driving to endanger and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
Police say Lowe had been drinking alcohol and was texting back and forth with friends at a drinking party when her car crashed in West Paris shortly after midnight on Jan. 7. Nineteen-year-old Logan Dam of Norway and 16-year-old Rebecca Mason of West Paris were killed.
