ROCKLAND — Bicycling Magazine, a monthly publication with readership over two million, chose the Bicycle Coalition of Maine’s Lobster Ride and Roll as one of America’s Top Century Rides.
This year’s bike ride is slated to be held on July 21, featuring Mane scenery and a celebratory lobster roll feast once the ride is concluded. This year marks the 11th anniversary of the event.
The event includes 16-, 30-, 50- and 100-mile options along some of Maine’s most idyllic back roads.
Registration for the event is now open at Bicycle Coalition of Maine’s website, www.bikemaine.org
Registrants receive Lobster Ride bike socks, and admission to local museums free with registration. The ride also features full race support and rest stops, delicious alternatives to a lobster roll if preferred and showers for after the ride.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
