BATH — A public reception for Bath artist Peter Alexander will take place Thursday at 92 Front St.

The event will be hosted by the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust, and Alexander’s watercolors will be highlighted through May 25 at KELT’s new meeting space and gallery at 92 Front St., Suite 23, on the second floor.

The exhibition represents a wide range of locations and time frames, according to a release, with images from Maine to New Zealand done since his teenage years.

Alexander “is known locally as both a musician and environmental advocate,” the release states. “He is president of the Maine Songwriters Association and director of the Northeast Great Waters Coalition, an ambitious alliance committed to educating legislators and their constituents about the economic and environmental benefits of restoring the coastal waters, bays, rivers and watersheds of the Gulf of Maine. In his spare time he pursues watercolor painting, trying to capture and translate the beauty of the natural world.”

"My passion for the coast of Maine — and in particular the New Meadows and Casco Bay — deeply influences almost every aspect of my life," Alexander said in the release. "From my paintings, to my music, and my work with the coalition to increase federal investment to restore coastal water quality and habitat for fish and wildlife."
