LEWISTON (AP) — Police say a brawl involving 15 to 20 people in Lewiston over the weekend sent three men to the hospital with stab wounds.

Police say they responded to a Howe Street apartment building at about 2 a.m. after getting a 911 call about a fight.

Three men were stabbed. A 25-year-old Livermore Falls man and a 22-year-old Lewiston man were treated at Central Maine Medical Center and released. A 21-year-old man from Lewiston was listed in good condition on Sunday.

Police tell the Sun Journal one man arrested at the scene on an outstanding warrant for an unrelated charge is considered a person of interest by police. Tyrone Q. Howell remained at the Androscoggin County Jail on Sunday awaiting arraignment.

The reason for the brawl remains under investigation.
