BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Aspen Dental U12 softball team split two games over the weekend.
In game one at Edwards Field, Bowdoinham’s Temple Well Drilling’s offensive attack was too much for Brunswick Aspen Dental in a 14-2 victory.
Temple Well Drilling was led by multiple hits from Belle Benner, Kayleigh Temple and Anna Manuel, who singled and homered. Alana Weaver pitched four strong innings, allowing only one hit to Aspen Dental’s Margaret Dickinson, and striking out 10.
Dickinson was a bright spot for Aspen Dental, scoring both runs and turning an unassisted triple play on defense. Aspen Dental also got hits from Caitlyn Witwicki, Allison Eck, Julia Rutherford and Robyn Dumont.
In the second game, Aspen Dental prevailed over the Bath Elks Club, 20-1.
Having big days at the plate were Aspen Dental’s Brooke Barter with two hits and three RBIs, while Eck had multiple hits, and Dickinson also chipped in with a double and two RBIs.
Bath Elks Club played hard as Sidney Swansen scored a run and Autumn Myers had a hit.
Aspen Dental’s Madeline Berry went three strong innings to start the game and got her first win of the season.
