AUGUSTA (AP) — Maine Gov. Paul LePage has ordered flags to be lowered to halfstaff to honor police officers.

LePage issued the directive that’ll be in effect from sunrise to sunset today.

He says the lowering of the flags is in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week. The president also issued a proclamation to that effect.
