AUGUSTA — Gov. Paul LePage has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff to honor police officers.
The directive will be in effect from sunrise to sunset today.
He says the lowering of the flags is in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week. President Barack Obama has also issued a proclamation to that effect.
