BATH — The Morse High School jayvee baseball team was able to dodge the raindrops long enough to pick up a pair of victories last week.
Zach Holbrook pitch and hit the Shipbuilders to a 14-4 win over Nokomis.
Holbrook was 4-for-4 at the plate, while Dylan Servant doubled and played well at first base. Casey Watson was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, while Andrew Plummer singled and scored a run.
Holbrook struck out four in four innings of work. Dakota Jacobs finished with two innings of relief, with one strikeout.
A slugfest with Oceanside saw Morse come away with a 15-10 victory in eight innings.
Trevor Bernier pitched the final six innings, striking out nine and walking three. Josh Moser went the first two frames with three strikeouts.
Bernier was 4-for-4 with two walks and three runs scored, while Moser had three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Trevor Drouin singled three times, stole three bases and picked up three RBIs, including the go-ahead run on a suicide squeeze bunt. Jacobs scored a pair of runs and singled twice.
